Kapanlagi.com - Former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) AM Hendropriyono regrets the negative news about him. He is said to have lobbied President Jokowi to make Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
Hendropriyono admitted that he was harmed by the news. He also doubted the credibility of the unreliable sources in the news. The news mentioned a meeting with three retired Generals. However, the fact is that the meeting was only attended by him, his wife, and President Jokowi.
"The three unnamed retired Generals mentioned in the news were not with us, namely me, my wife, and Mr. Jokowi when we met. So it is not relevant to be used as a source of news for professional and credible media coverage," said Hendropriyono in his statement today, Wednesday (16/6/2021).
Although he objected to the news coverage in question, Hendropriyono admitted that he does not hate the media. Hendropriyono hopes that what is conveyed can be a lesson for the press world to be wiser in producing news.
"I give this advice out of my love. Don't be angry at this parental advice, because my foundation is not hatred at all. Consider it as a lesson that may also be beneficial for our press world in its freedom," said Hendropriyono.

Regarding the claim that the media has tried to contact him but received no response, Hendropriyono believes that it cannot be used as an excuse. Hendropriyono is optimistic that the media in Indonesia can continue to develop and learn to be better in the future.
"Consider this as a lesson to be more ethical," concluded Hendropriyono.
