Dozens of victims who claimed to be raped by Reynhard have given statements on how they got to know the perpetrator. From the victims' statements, it is known that Reynhard has the same method to get his victims.

1. Observation

Reynhard Sinaga is said to enjoy observing the men on Princess Street from the window of his apartment. Right in front of his residence is also a nightclub called The Factory.

From his window, Reynhard observes people coming out of the nightclub, waiting for buses or taxis at the bus stop, chatting with friends, and those inside the nightclub. It should be noted that many of Reynhard's victims have usually just spent time at The Factory nightclub. Especially when they have just been drunk and not very aware of their surroundings.

2. Helping Drunk Men

One of the victims admitted that he initially thought Reynhard was a very nice man. The victim, in a drunken state, was convinced by Reynhard to come to his apartment.

Upon arriving at the apartment, the victim was asked to sit on a pillow and blanket spread out on the floor. He then received a glass of water and suddenly fell asleep after drinking it. When he woke up in the middle of the night, the victim was already on the bed. He briefly woke up and saw Reynhard sitting on the bed.

"I felt more at ease with him sitting on the bed, maybe taking care of me and making sure I wasn't sick while sleeping," said the victim.

However, the next day, the victim woke up in a messy condition and immediately fled from Reynhard's apartment.

3. Helping Lost Men

Other victims claimed to be from outside Manchester and got lost when their phone battery died. They encountered Reynhard who intended to help by providing a charger. The victims admitted to having a conversation with the perpetrator before losing consciousness.

When they woke up, they found themselves in bed and thought that Reynhard was really kind for wanting to help them. "I didn't have any bad thoughts about him. I felt a little strange, but I thought he was doing something good and I trusted him too much. He asked for a hug, so I hugged him," said one victim who even claimed to have recorded themselves leaving Reynhard's apartment and telling their friend how nice the perpetrator was.

4. Victims Always Wake Up Unconscious

All of Reynhard's victims were unaware that they had been raped until they were informed by the police. They had no memory of how the incidents occurred.

What they remembered upon waking up in Reynhard's apartment was that they were in a messy, intoxicated, and confused state. Some felt ashamed for losing consciousness in a stranger's home, some felt pain, and they all tried to forget about the strange and confusing events.

Most of them also believed that Reynhard was a kind person who helped them when they were unconscious and offered to sleep on the floor. However, some suspected that they were attacked but quickly dismissed the thought because they felt Reynhard was too nice.

5. What Anesthetic is Used?

The police did not find any drugs in Reynhard Sinaga's apartment. The prosecutor convinced that Reynhard may have used gammahydroxybutrate (GHB) or gammabutyrolactone (GBL), commonly known as G, to sedate his victims.

Expert witness presented in court, Dr. Simon Elliot, mentioned that G can cause someone to be unconscious for several hours even with a small dose. Users may experience anterograde amnesia where they cannot remember certain past events. G is commonly referred to as liquid ecstasy, 'high and horny', and others. Its effects can vary from person to person.

6. Types of Men Who Became Victims

The men who became Reynhard's victims were all different but had the same type, which is macho, athletic, and attractive young men. The youngest was only 17 years old and the oldest was 36 years old.

Most of them were students, there were also newcomers to Manchester who were far from their hometowns.

All, except two people, of Reynhard's victims claimed not to be gay. While one person claimed to be bi-curious (still curious about their sexual orientation). However, they all stated that they were not interested in having any intimate relationship with Reynhard.
