IDCamp Virtual Summit 2021 Held, Indosat Committed to Producing Great Programmers in the Country

IDCamp itself has been running since 2019 and a total of more than 64,000 participants have participated in this cool program. On May 7th, Indosat Ooredoo successfully held the IDCamp Virtual Summit 2021 with a series of cool events. Attended by many cool figures such as the Director & Chief Operating Officer of Indosat Ooredoo and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, what was there in the IDCamp Virtual Summit 2021?

Graduation Class of 2020

The IDCamp Virtual Summit 2021 opened with the graduation ceremony of IDCamp 2020. Held since last year, IDCamp 2020 has successfully produced certified programmers ready to dive into the digital industry.

Interestingly, there are 10 top graduates from IDCamp 2020 who also attended this graduation ceremony online. Not half-hearted, Director & Chief Operating Officer Indosat Ooredoo Vikram Sinha directly led this graduation procession.

Launching Ceremony IDCamp 2021

The graduation procession held does not mean the end of the IDCamp program initiated by Indosat Ooredoo. At this event, the launching ceremony of IDCamp 2021 was also held, led by Director & Chief Operating Officer Indosat Ooredoo Vikram Sinha, Director & Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Indosat Ooredoo Arief Musta'in, and Director & Chief Human Resources Officer Indosat Ooredoo Irsyad Sahroni.

Not to be missed, SVP-Head of Corporate Communications Indosat Ooredoo Steve Saerang also revealed the underlying reasons for the presence of IDCamp entering its third year. According to him, Indonesia needs solution finders for digital industry problems.

"The needs of society and the market demand that players in the creative digital industry become problem solvers who can make an impact on society. That's why IDCamp is here to facilitate potential programmers and developers from all over Indonesia," said Steve Saerang.

To realize this mission, Steve Saerang also explained something new in IDCamp 2021. Some additional facilities include learning methods, developer classes, virtual roadshows, virtual summits, certification programs for teachers, and boot camps for people with disabilities. It's really cool!

Talkshow with Cool Speakers

IDCamp Virtual Summit 2021 concluded with a discussion session on the creative digital industry attended by cool speakers. Starting from CEO 8Villages Sanny Gaddafi, Chief Technology Officer DANA Indonesia Norman Sasono, CEO Dicoding Indonesia Narenda Wicaksono, and representatives from Indosat Ooredoo, namely Director & Chief Human Resources Officer Indosat Ooredoo Irsyad Sahroni and SVP-Head of Corporate Communications Indosat Ooredoo Steve Saerang.

From tips on becoming a developer to discussions about the development of the digital industry, it was discussed in this session. CEO of Dicoding Indonesia, Narenda Wicaksono, explains that the opportunity to become a digital developer in the country is wide open.

“Becoming a developer and programmer has a great chance. The key is to pay attention to three important things: motivation, patience, and high curiosity,” said Narenda.

Tips for becoming a reliable programmer were also conveyed by representatives from Indosat Ooredoo, namely Steve Saerang and Irsyad Sahroni. Each of them stated that a programmer and digital industry player must have intuition in solving problems.

“The development of ideas starts from how we solve a problem. When we become a good problem solver, the development ability of the program will also be maximized,” explained Steve Saerang.

Irsyad Sahroni also agrees that developers and programmers need to think visionary. “The most important thing is that you can create a solution even when others haven't realized it as a problem,” added Irsyad Sahroni.

Through IDCamp, Indosat Ooredoo is committed to producing programmers in Indonesia, which is needed by more than 600,000 workers in a year. Through the program that has been running since 2019, there have been more than 64,000 potential young programmers who have participated in IDCamp, with 13,000 programmers being certified.
