Not Just Anyone Can Get It, There Are Criteria for Covid-19 Vaccine Recipients

The presence of this program also brings a breath of fresh air amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic situation. As long as it complies with the priorities and regulations obtained by the government, every Indonesian citizen has the right to receive this vaccination program.

However, did you know that recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine are not just anyone? There are criteria that must be met in order to receive the Covid-19 vaccine for free in Indonesia. What are they?

No History of Chronic and Dangerous Diseases

In order for the vaccine to work optimally in the body, make sure you do not have a history of chronic diseases. Some diseases that fall into this category include heart disease, autoimmune diseases, chronic kidney disease, autoimmune rheumatism, chronic digestive diseases, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, and cancer.

In addition, make sure the body is not currently experiencing acute infections accompanied by fever, cough, cold, diarrhea, and the like. Controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with HbA1C below 58 mmol/mol or 7.5 percent can also receive this Covid-19 vaccine. While for people with lung diseases such as asthma, COPD, or tuberculosis, vaccination should be postponed until their condition improves.

Family Members Free from Covid-19 Patient Status

This Covid-19 vaccine cannot be directly given to Covid-19 patients. Also, make sure that family members are free from Covid-19 patient status or currently undergoing Covid-19 treatment. For Covid-19 survivors, they can get vaccinated at least 3 months after recovery.

Body Temperature Below 37.5 Degrees Celsius during Examination

When you come to the designated vaccination site, you will not be immediately injected. Instead, you have to go through an initial health screening. If during this screening process you have a fever or a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius, the vaccination will be postponed. You will be asked to undergo an examination related to the symptoms experienced and visit the same health post. If the cause is not Covid-19 and the body temperature has returned to normal, then the vaccination can be done with a complete health screening.

Normal Blood Pressure

In addition to not being pregnant, recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine must also have normal blood pressure. This will be known during the initial health screening before vaccination. If your blood pressure is above or equal to 180/110, you are not allowed to get vaccinated. 

Make the most of early health screening. Express all your health conditions honestly and clearly, so that healthcare workers can determine whether you are allowed to get vaccinated or not. However, this is for your own safety and well-being, so please cooperate as much as possible. 

On the other hand, in order to facilitate the free distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine in Indonesia, Indosat Ooredoo also contributes directly by introducing the Mobile Clinic program. Also present on this occasion was Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Mayor of Surakarta, to oversee the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination for Solo residents.
The Chairman of the Surakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Budi Prasetyo, also directly participated in the Covid-19 vaccination in Karangasem. Budi Prasetyo also delivered the message #BisaBangkitBersama (Can Rise Together),
