Inspirational Terrace Award (TERASI 2025), SOVLO Strives to Present an Inclusive Ecosystem for Indonesian Illustrators

Through this initiative, SOVLO continues to open space for illustrators from all over Indonesia to grow, create, and monetize their selected works. TERASI is a tangible manifestation of that commitment—a platform to celebrate art, creativity, and culture in one immersive experience.

This year, 54 illustrators from the SOVLO family will be the main part of the TERASI exhibition, showcasing their best works to the public. Not only that, TERASI also features various special collaborations with invited illustrators and artists, enriching perspectives and expanding the meaning of diversity in the Indonesian art landscape.

Held from July 10–13, 2025, at Pos Bloc, Central Jakarta, this event combines an art exhibition, immersive experience, workshops, and an art market that is open to the public for free. Carrying the theme "5PECIAL FOR YOU", TERASI 2025 also marks the fifth anniversary celebration of SOVLO, signifying an important milestone as a growing creative ecosystem in Indonesia.

TERASI is not just an art exhibition, but also a strategic platform to strengthen the foundation of a sustainable illustration-based creative economy—opening up monetization opportunities and solidifying the position of local artists in the national creative industry.

1. A Home for Talented Illustrators

Since its establishment in 2020, SOVLO has grown into a home for talented illustrators from various corners of Indonesia. With the tagline #DiscoverLocalCreARTivity, SOVLO is committed to building a platform that not only appreciates the works of illustrators but also transforms creativity into sellable products.

To date, there are 54 curated local illustrators who have been empowered to open business opportunities strategically. Through a locally talent-based approach, SOVLO connects illustrators with consumers, creating a sustainable income stream through the monetization of artwork.

“We believe that art is not only for appreciation but also has the power to move and inspire. SOVLO serves as a home that builds a bridge between creativity and economic opportunities, helping local illustrators turn dreams into valuable and sustainable works,” explained Djohan, Co-Founder of SOVLO.

Entering its second year of implementation, TERASI becomes a concrete step in affirming that Indonesian art has transformative power and can drive the national creative economy. Here, art meets economic value, and the dreams of artists manifest into valuable works within an inclusive business ecosystem.

2. Not Just an Annual Event

"We believe that every work of local illustrators, young artists, and creative ideas from the imagination of our nation has extraordinary potential and can make a real contribution to the economy," Djohan added.

At the opening of TERASI 2025, Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, also delivered a speech.

"This is not just an annual event, but a collaborative space where creators and illustrators can meet and create impactful works. Art is part of culture and technology that has economic potential. When we empower local artists, we are also building a foundation for an economy based on creativity," said Irene Umar.

She added that the programs run by SOVLO, particularly in providing a platform for local illustrators to be recognized, appreciated, and commercialized, are very much in line with the direction of national creative economy development.

3. Inclusive Ecosystem for Everyone

TERASI 2025 presents a variety of art collections, interactive installations that invite active participation from visitors, creative workshops from illustrators, and direct dialogue sessions between artists and visitors. The most special feature is the presence of a dedicated platform for artists with disabilities, in line with the SOVLO campaign: "Inclusive Ecosystem for Everyone".

Through the Disability Art Space, SOVLO provides a special space for works by disabled artists, affirming that art is a universal and inclusive language.

“Every individual, regardless of physical condition, social background, or any limitations, has the right to showcase their work, monetize their creativity, and contribute to the creative economy community,” said Lidya Valensia, Founder of SOVLO.

TERASI 2025 marks that SOVLO is not only building a creative ecosystem but also creating a fair, diverse, and sustainable space for everyone.
