Jealousy, Man in Malang Drifts Same-Sex Partner into River While Drunk

Kapanlagi.com - There is news that has recently caused a stir on social media. A man in Malang drifted his same-sex partner into a fast-flowing river after heavy rain. MDH (44) drifted his victim, HR, into the river while under the influence of alcohol.

The head of the Malang Kota Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said that the case was uncovered after the discovery of a body that was suspected to be a suicide victim. However, after an investigation, several irregularities were found.

"Suspicion arose that there was a discrepancy if it was a suicide or something else. So the investigators delved into it," said Kombes Budi Hermanto at the Malang Kota Police Station, on Tuesday (7/6).

1. Resident Who Found the Body

HR's body was found by residents on the banks of a river in the Blimbing Kota Malang area, about three months ago. The perpetrator was the last person seen with HR.

The suspicion of murder grew stronger after evidence was obtained, namely the victim's motorcycle that was taken by the perpetrator.

"We investigated the timeline starting from the victim meeting his friend at the workshop in the afternoon, chasing him again until several witnesses were found. So we found other evidence and tools," he explained.

2. Jealous Perpetrator

The head of criminal investigations at the Malang Kota Police, AKP Bayu Fabriyanto Paryoga, added that MDH was driven by jealousy, before then getting his partner drunk. When the victim was unconscious, HR was carried on the back of a motorcycle and brought to the riverbank.

"The victim was carried and led from the motorcycle, directed to the edge of the river, and then drifted," said the head of criminal investigations, AKP Bayu Fabriyanto Paryoga, at the Malang Kota Police Station, on Tuesday (7/6).

3. Still Alive When Swept Away

The victim was still alive when swept away into the river after heavy rain. This raised suspicion that the victim committed suicide.

The perpetrator himself often transacted or purchased items such as cellphones and clothes sold by the victim. In addition, they are suspected to have a special relationship as a same-sex couple.

4. Perpetrator Wants Victim's Motorcycle

Kasatreskrim, AKP Bayu Fabriyanto Paryoga also revealed that the motive for this case is because the perpetrator was jealous of the victim. The perpetrator also wanted to have the victim's motorcycle.

"It is suspected that the perpetrator has a deviation in sexual orientation, but we are still investigating," he explained.

For his actions, the victim is charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code on murder with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
