But behind all that, there is a reason why these snacks have to be discontinued. PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) is known to have officially acquired all the shares owned by Fritolay Netherlands Holding B.V. (Fritolay), an affiliate of PepsiCo Inc, at PT Indofood Fritolay Makmur (IFL).

1. Building Cooperation

With this transaction, IFL will terminate the licensing agreement with PepsiCo. As is known, PepsiCo has several popular snack brands in Indonesia such as Lays, Doritos, Cheetos, and Pepsi-Cola.

"For a three-year period starting from August 2021, PepsiCo and its affiliates have agreed not to produce, package, sell, market, or distribute competing snack products in Indonesia," management said in an official statement from PepsiCo, Thursday (18/2), as quoted from CNN Indonesia.

2. Will it be Marketed Again in 2024?

However, behind this surprising news, the management itself hopes to be able to sell products in the market again. But it cannot be confirmed whether Lays, Doritos, and Cheetos will return after 2024.

"We hope to return to the Indonesian market with our products such as Lays, Doritos, and Cheetos as soon as possible to create more smiles with every sip and every bite," he concluded.
