Kapanlagi.com - The sound of loud bangs that occurred continuously throughout the night and morning has intrigued the residents of Malang Raya. Until now, the exact source of the consecutive sound that caused the vibrations is still unknown.
Amanda Egatya (25), a resident of Malang City, claimed to have heard the loud bangs since Tuesday night (2/2) until Wednesday morning (3/2). The sounds were consecutive and resembled echoing cannons.
"I heard it in the middle of the night because I was alone in my room, so I immediately covered myself with a blanket and started thinking about various possibilities. But I kept hearing it," said Manda on Wednesday (3/2).
The sound of explosions continues to be heard, even in the morning the sound still echoes. Initially, many thought that the sound came from volcanic activity around Malang Raya.
Ma'muri, Head of the BMKG Karangkates Malang Geophysics Station, said that the seismic sensors did not detect any seismic activity or lightning strikes that were anomalous. So it is confirmed that it is not sourced from volcanic activity and lightning.
Based on seismic sensor data in Malang, Tretes, and Gedangan in the time range of 24:00-03:00 WIB, there was no increase in seismic activity, and the data on lightning strike activity also did not show any anomalous increase," explained Ma'muri.
Ma'muri has not been able to determine the source of the sound of the explosion, preliminary suspicion is that it is not volcanic activity. However, complete data is still needed to confirm the activity that caused the sound.
"So until now, we still don't have a clear certainty about the source of the sound of the explosion. It could be, but complete data is needed to confirm," he explained.
The Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, stated that he still doesn't know the exact source of the explosion sound. He asked the Malang City BPBD to track down the source of the sound.
The public is advised to remain calm and not to panic. Increase faith and devotion to Almighty God. While waiting for information from us, after confirmation from the relevant authorities," he emphasized.
Sutiaji also emphasized that the activities of Mount Semeru and Mount Raung are normal. However, the source of the explosion sound is still unknown.
No authority has provided a definite explanation about the source of the explosion sound. But many ears have heard the sound, even outside the city of Malang.
