Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) woke up at night and performed prayer, prolonging his prostration to the extent that I thought he had passed away. Out of suspicion, I moved his finger and it was still moving. When he raised his head from prostration and finished his prayer, he said, 'O Asiyah (or O Humaira), did you think that the Messenger of Allah did not fulfill your right?' I replied, 'No, O Messenger of Allah, but I thought that Allah had taken you away because your prostration was very long.' The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'Do you know what night this is?' I replied, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'This is the night of Nisfu Sya'ban (the middle of the month of Sya'ban). And Allah appears to His servants on the night of Nisfu Sya'ban and forgives those who seek forgiveness, loves those who seek His love, but delays those who hold grudges as they deserve.' "O Allah, O Bestower of favors, no one bestows favors upon You. O Possessor of majesty and honor, O Helper and Bestower of blessings, there is no deity worthy of worship except You, O Shelter for the refugees, O Refuge for those who seek refuge, O Safe Haven for the fearful.

O Allah, if You have written me down as being someone who is miserable, destitute, cast out, or deprived, then erase it from me.

O Allah, by Your grace, remove my misery, destitution, cast out status, and deprivation, and establish in the Ummul Kitab (the Preserved Tablet) with You that which will make me happy, with abundant sustenance and confirmed success in all goodness. For indeed, You have said in Your Book - and Your word is true - that which Your Messenger has conveyed from You: 'Allah erases what He wills and confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.'

O my Lord, by the greatness of Your manifestation on this noble night of the month of Sha'ban, in which every matter of wisdom is made distinct, please remove from me all calamities - those that I know and those that I do not know - and remove from me all that I fear, while You are the One who knows the unseen. By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon his family and companions, and may He grant them peace."
