It must always be remembered until old age,'" said Sudjiatmi's mother.

"I remember my mother always encouraging me to study anywhere," said Jokowi about his mother.

"At that time, my mother said 'to become a great person, you must have a great soul.' I hold onto those words as a belief in facing all the challenges in life with a great and sincere soul," he wrote as quoted by Merdeka.

"I have heard my mother praying for her children during her prayers, asking for her children to excel in life. After every prayer, she mentioned my name and my siblings' names. My mother's prayers are truly devoted to Allah SWT," said the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"When my business went bankrupt, my mother also strengthened me with a very sincere smile, as if saying to continue striving, to keep striving," said Jokowi.

"There are no specific rituals. Only tahajud to achieve his goals," said mother Sudjiatmi when her son ran for the Governor of DKI Jakarta in 2012.

"This morning, he (Jokowi) called me and asked for prayers. I told Joko, may he be given the best for this nation," said Sudjiatmi during the presidential election in 2014.

"The blessing and support of a mother who always shelters every step and provides comfort in every journey of life," Jokowi wrote on his Instagram account when uploading a photo of him paying respects to his mother during the presidential election.
