Wedding Ritual of Patimasang, Accompanied by the Tears of Governor Khofifah

Prior to the marriage ceremony of Patimasang and Fadil Wirawan, the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, held a siraman event. This Javanese traditional wedding ceremony took place at Khofifah's residence in the Jemursari area of Surabaya.

The siraman event was filled with tears. Khofifah burst into tears when giving her blessings to her daughter for marriage.

Khofifah Indar Parawansa chose a green kebaya for the siraman procession of her first child, Patimasang, who was engaged to Fadil Wirawan.

Accompanied by her two sons, who are replacing their late father, Khofifah participated in the siraman procession starting from the installation of bleketepe in front of the house.

Before the siraman event took place, Patimasang asked for her mother's blessing. With a hug and a kiss, Khofifah blessed her eldest child for marriage.

This siraman procession was directed by a Javanese bridal makeup artist named Dyah, who is famous for the Bennbagoes bridal salon that is well-known in Surabaya.

Before the siraman procession takes place, Khofifah embraces Ima. The tears of this mother of three children burst when she releases her eldest child to embark on a new life.

With love, Khofifah's two sons give hugs and kisses to their mother. Now, these handsome boys are the ones who will take care of Khofifah in her old age.

During the siraman, Khofifah appears slightly tense. Meanwhile, Ima is more relaxed and spreads a wide smile as the water is poured onto her body.

The water used for this siraman comes from 7 natural springs. Five of them are obtained from sources at the tombs of the Saints. Namely, from Sunan Ampel, Sunan Giri, Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Sunan Bonang, and Sunan Drajat. The other two come from the zam-zam water source and the Muayyad Mosque in Wonocolo, Surabaya.

After the siraman procession is finished, Khofifah carried her daughter with the eldest son. This procession should have been done by the father, but because Indar Parawansa has passed away, his position was replaced by the mother and siblings.

After the siraman procession is finished, the event continued to the midodareni night. Ima looked beautiful in a light green kebaya, while a smile was already visible on Khofifah's face.
