The sad news was conveyed by the Secretary General of the United Development Party, Arwani Thomafi. In addition to serving as Vice President during Megawati's administration from 2001 to 2004, he also held the position of Minister of Investment during President Habibie's administration, and as Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare during President Abdurrahman Wahid's administration. It is reported that Hamzah Haz's body will be buried in the Family Cemetery Complex in Cisarua, Bogor.
