The woman named Halima said goodbye as she went to look for snails at the estuary of the Wali River, South Buru Regency, Maluku. Halima's body was found dead by passing residents on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.Officials and several residents had difficulty evacuating Halima's body because it was near the crocodile that attacked her. The crocodile was eventually subdued with gunfire so that residents could immediately retrieve the parts of the victim's body that had already been swallowed by the crocodile.
