The haldi ceremony is an Indian ritual that aims to make the bride and groom look brighter on their wedding day. In this moment, both the bride and groom and their families will be smeared with yellow paste.
The paste used in the haldi ceremony is made from turmeric, rose water, sandalwood, gram flour, and curd. After becoming a paste, it is then applied to the bride's body.
The haldi ceremony procession is usually done at the respective homes of the bride and groom. However, Radhika and Anant did it at the Ambani family's house named Antila House.
Following the Ambani family tradition, Radhika wore a dupatta made of fresh flowers. The scarf was specially made with jasmine flowers.
This fresh jasmine dupatta is similar to the arrangement on Indonesian brides during the siraman ritual. Haldi itself has a similar meaning to the siraman ritual in several Indonesian customs, such as Javanese and Sundanese.
