Portrait of Mannat, Shahrukh Khan's House, Reportedly to be Expanded by 2 Floors - Cost Reaches Rp47 Billion

Shahrukh Khan is rumored to be renovating his house, Mannat. According to Indianexpress, Gauri Khan is currently trying to obtain permission from the Mumbai City Government to add 2 floors to their house.

For the renovation, SRK and Gauri are said to require funds of Rs25 crore or around Rp47 billion. However, the purpose of the additional two floors is still unknown, considering that Mannat is already very spacious and consists of 6 floors.

Shahrukh Khan bought this house in 2001. He and Gauri then named the 6-story building Mannat.

Mannat is actually a historic house built in 1914 by Nariman K Dubash. Shahrukh and Gauri are not allowed to change this building arbitrarily, and they chose to add a 6-story building behind the main house.

Now Gauri is applying for permission to add two more floors to the new building located behind the main house. In total, Gauri will add an area of 616 square meters to the new building.

As a historic building, Mannat can only be renovated in the new building. Meanwhile, the old building in front cannot be changed at all.

Although the additions are to the new building section, Gauri and SRK are still required to seek permission from the local government. Gauri has submitted the permit request since early November.

The total cost required to add two floors to this building is estimated at Rp47 billion. This is certainly a small amount for Shahrukh Khan, only about a quarter of his earnings from one film title.
