Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan along with his family, consisting of his wife Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan, and Aryan Khan, cast their votes in the Maharashtra state election taking place today in Mumbai. They appeared at the polling station with tight security.
In a circulating video, Shahrukh Khan was seen exiting the polling station at Mount Mary School located in the Bandra area of Mumbai, accompanied by his family. They were escorted by police officers and several security officials.
Shahrukh Khan is not the only celebrity who voted in Mumbai today. Previously, actor Salman Khan was also seen arriving at Mount Mary School to exercise his voting rights in this election.
In addition to Salman Khan, several other celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Raj Kumar Rao, and Farhan Akhtar along with his sister, Zoya Akhtar, also came out to vote today. Likewise, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were present at the polling station.
These celebrities also encouraged the people of Maharashtra to come to the polling stations and participate in the election. They conveyed the important message of voting in determining the future of the state.
The election to choose members of the Maharashtra state assembly is conducted in one phase. Voting started at 07:00 AM and will end at 06:00 PM.
As of 05:00 PM, voter participation in Maharashtra reached 58.22%. In Mumbai city, the voter participation rate until 03:00 PM was recorded at 40.89%. Meanwhile, in the suburban districts of Mumbai, the voter participation rate was recorded at 39.34%.
