A series of Indonesian artists received official invitations to experience riding the Jabodetabek LRT (Light Rail Transit) with President Joko Widodo and several members of the Indonesian Maju Cabinet on Thursday (10/08/2023). Besides being excited to try out the new public transportation mode, these artists also didn't miss the opportunity to take photos with the President. Let's take a look at the photos!
Top artists including Ayu Dewi, Chelsea Islan, Widi Mulia, Nirina Zubir, Indy Barends, Aurelie Moeremans, Reisa Broto Asmoro, Desta, Lukman Sardi, Ari Lasso, and Cak Lontong joined President of the Republic of Indonesia in trying out the Jabodetabek LRT.
These artists departed together by bus to the station to experience the Jabodebek LRT transportation mode, which will be inaugurated at the end of August 2023.
In addition to the President, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, State Secretary Pratikno, Acting Governor of DKI Heru Budi Hartono, and Wishnutama Kusubandio were also present.
"Together with art enthusiasts, we tried out the Jabodebek LRT this morning from Jatimulya Station in Bekasi to Dukuh Atas Station in Jakarta," said the caption of President Jokowi's official Instagram post.
The enthusiasm was truly felt even before these artists actually got on the LRT. Especially when they met directly with President Jokowi.
Being close to President Jokowi, of course, the artists did not miss this rare opportunity to take photos together, either in groups or individually.
Through their respective Instagram posts, these artists expressed their enthusiasm for being able to take photos side by side with the number one man in Indonesia today.
They also shared their impressions of riding the LRT on social media. "So happy to ride the LRT together with Mr. @jokowi, Mr. @erickthohir, and Mr. @budikaryas. So we can experience the fast and smooth train ride," Ayu Dewi said.
Not to be left behind, these artists invite the public to use public transportation more often than private vehicles after the official inauguration of the LRT.
Because besides being able to save money, the use of public transportation also helps reduce pollution and alleviate traffic congestion, especially in the capital area.
