10 Photos of Tika Bravani Who Was Once a Victim of Bullying, More Anxious Since Having a Child - Teach to Brave Against Bullying

Actress Tika Bravani revealed her personal experience as a victim of bullying. She admitted to being increasingly worried after having a child due to the many cases of bullying that are happening nowadays.

"I have been a bullying victim before. I am also more anxious now because I have a child. Especially seeing how there are so many bullying cases in social circles today. Especially now it's 'no viral no justice'," said Tika Bravani at XXI Epicentrum South Jakarta, Monday (10/3/2025).

"So sometimes I think about what I should do if something happens to my child, where should I seek shelter," she added. Here are the details.

The wife of actor Dimas Aditya explained that during her school years, the bullying she experienced was not only verbal but also physical. According to her, at that time, many schools normalized seniority actions.

"Verbal, physical. Back in high school, oh, I know. In school, sometimes they normalize the relationship between seniors and juniors. For example, when seniors and juniors have a conflict, it has become a tradition to report to the teacher like 'yeah, that's just how it is'," she said.

According to Tika, the bullying that occurs today is more dangerous because it is often viral on social media and leads to serious mental impacts. She believes the current generation is more vulnerable compared to the past. "But for us who experienced it, we felt worthless, felt lazy to go to school, whereas now the current generation is actually used to convenience, and I'm afraid their mental strength isn't as strong as it was in the past," she said.

"In the past, being bullied was not viral, so it was okay, but now it goes viral and can lead to suicide, which is dangerous. So it relates to life, making bullying not just for fun but a threat to life," she added.

For her, all forms of bullying are very harmful, whether mentally, physically, or economically. She feels that bullying is something shameful.

Although she was once a victim, Tika ultimately chose to make peace with the incident. She mentioned that as she got older, she began to accept what happened in the past. "Yes, I made peace because it eventually normalized, oh yes, maybe it was a tradition, and as I grew up, thankfully I’m okay, so I had to make peace. When I think about it again, especially after reading scenarios like 'oh wow, I was also treated like this before,'" she said.

As a mother, Tika wants to build a close relationship with her children so that they feel comfortable sharing. She believes that good communication is the key to preventing bullying. "Actually, I think the main thing I need to strengthen is that connection first. Maybe I'm worried that my kids won't be able to talk because there's distance, so that's what I'm nurturing from now on so that the kids feel 'oh, mom and dad are here for me'—so the support system must be prioritized," she said.

Tika also instills bravery in her children to stand up if they experience bullying. She teaches that defending oneself is not wrong as long as they don’t start it first. "If you’re being bullied, fight back. You can't just accept it; that doesn't mean you're bad, the important thing is you don't start it first. If you hit first, mom won't support you. The motivation is to defend yourself," said Tika.

She also shared her child's experience of being bullied. According to her, at that time her child was just silent, but now they are starting to be brave and take a stand.

"Once, at that time, she was even pulled by her hair and asked 'what did you do?' 'I just stayed silent' 'oh next time just take it back, if it's yours, take it. It's okay, dear, be brave.' So now she is starting to be brave 'don't push me, if you are here, where do I sit,'" she concluded.
