Annisa Pohan wore a light blue kebaya with a flower motif combined with batik fabric when attending the Temu Kangen Kebaya Foundation event.

"Kebaya kutu baru with Javanese selendang and bris solo fabric, that's all, because during the day I just want to wear something comfortable," said Annisa Pohan at The Terrace Golf Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (14/6/2023).

"Kebaya can also be worn comfortably. Some say kebaya is stuffy, but with this original kebaya, it's very comfortable," added Annisa Pohan.

This daughter-in-law of the sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono admitted that she has always liked wearing kebaya.

She believes that wearing kebaya is a symbol of Indonesian women. That's why Annisa Pohan wants to preserve kebaya for her children and grandchildren.

"Anyone who wears kebaya looks beautiful and elegant. It is the identity of Indonesian women, so it must be preserved. It is very important for us Indonesian women because our ancestors created kebaya with many philosophies and stories, and it must be passed on to our children and grandchildren," she said.

As a woman who loves wearing kebaya, Annisa Pohan admits to collecting these dresses. "I have a lot of collections when accompanying my mother (Ani Yudhoyono) on her duties, ranging from brocade, silk, cotton, embroidery, and so on," she said.

On the other hand, Annisa Pohan also wants kebaya to be socialized to all levels of society, including young people.

She believes that young people nowadays have started to realize the beauty of kebaya and have modified it with their own style.

"Do we really have to socialize it, we have to invite people, but we should be very proud because not all countries have a characteristic for women like we have with this kebaya. I see many young people who are starting to wear kebaya in a casual way, with sneakers," she concluded.
