5 Facts about The Junas Band's Comeback, on Hiatus because Stefan William Focused on Acting?

1. Remove the Word 'Monkey'

As is known, the band The Junas, which was established in 2011, was initially called The Junas Monkey. So, why remove the word Monkey?

"Monkey is a symbol of energetic and cute animals. Now we are more mature, we are no longer cute. So it was removed because we wanted to be more dignified," said Ajun, the guitarist, in a virtual conference session last week.

2. Following the Jonas Brothers?

At the beginning of their appearance in 2011 with the single Jadian, many said that The Junas Monkey was following the popularity of The Jonas Brothers. However, it turns out that Junas itself is a combination of the names of the three initial personnel.

"The Junas is an abbreviation of our names, Ajun, Adit, and Stefan. The manager added the word Monkey," said Aditya, who plays the drums.

3. Changing Personnel

The Junas Monkey was born in 2011 with the initial formation of Stefan William, Aditya Suryo Saputro, and Ajun Perwira. In 2018, when releasing the single Karena Cinta, they added two new personnel, Bobie Antonio and Hud Filbert.

However, in 2019, Hud Filbert decided to leave. So now they only have four members, with Bobie Antonio being the youngest member.

4. Reason for Hiatus

After releasing the singles 'Jadian' and 'Ikut Aku', The Junas Monkey's career immediately sank. Aditya Suryo Sapytro revealed one of the reasons was Stefan William's busy schedule in soap operas.

"Yesterday Stefan William was busy with soap operas, so we went on hiatus. We were also busy, just different production houses," explained Aditya.

5. One Single

Now, after making a comeback under the name The Junas, the three original members did not expect to have started families. Only Bobie Antonio remains single.

"We met again and everyone is married now. It's been a long journey. Only Bobie is still single," said Aditya.

"I already have a grandchild," joked Ajun Perwira.
