1. Becoming a Night Bus Conductor

Believe it or not, Sultan used to work as a night bus conductor for several years. He even did it when he was still in junior high school.

"I used to be a bus conductor. 4 years as a night bus conductor. Junior high school. Basically traveled around Java, Bali, Lombok, Lampung, Palembang, Bengkulu. Honestly, because my school wasn't good," Sultan recalled as quoted by KapanLagi.com from the official TRANS7 Youtube channel.

2. The Beginning of Becoming an Advertisement Model

When he was in high school, Sultan's luck finally came. It was thanks to the help of his older brother, Thomas Djorghi, who had already started working as a model.

"In high school, I became a first-year advertisement model. It started because I happened to be able to drive my own car. When Thomas was doing a photoshoot, he asked me to drive him. At that time, one of the models for a product suddenly couldn't come because of illness. So, the client offered me the opportunity instead of waiting for a long time. At first, I didn't want to, but Thomas insisted, so in the end, I tried it. And it started from there, a week later I got another offer, and another," he recalled again.

3. First Salary as an Advertising Model

Although initially strongly refusing to become a model, Sultan eventually changed his mind. The only reason is because of the large amount of money he receives.

"Because it's related to money, I enjoy it. I can buy a boxy Lancer car worth Rp 50 million," explained Sultan, which surprised the hosts.

4. Takes Up to 100 Times

Starting a new job as a model is a challenge for Sultan. As known, he has no experience in the field. Even for shooting alone, he had to take multiple times.

"That's what the most annoying client with me. Because the shooting should be finished in the evening, but I kept making mistakes. Maybe around 100 takes. There's a scene of drinking, mentioning blablabla, that alone is 100 takes," explained this 47-year-old man.

5. Sultan Djorghi's First Soap Opera

After having a permanent job as a model, Sultan finally succumbed to the temptation to enter the acting world. Although he already had a name as a model, he still had to go through a series of casting processes to get a role in his first soap opera.

"Back then, being a soap opera actor wasn't as easy as it is now. The first soap opera I got a role in was Tirai Kasih Terkoyak," he continued.

6. Once Labeled as a Playboy

In his time, Sultan was labeled as a playboy before finally settling down with Annisa Trihapsari, who happened to be a widow. Sultan didn't hesitate to tell his love story.

"There were many (exes), but I have no regrets. Why did I choose her (Annisa)? Because she understands me, she can love my flaws. She said my flaws are a bonus. It's okay to be a widow. Love is blind," he concluded.
