Designer and presenter Ivan Gunawan realized one of his wishes before departing to the Holy Land to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. He inaugurated the laying of the first stone for the construction of a mosque at the Dzurrotul Qur’an boarding school, which is his own school.

Ivan Gunawan expressed that the entire process leading to the construction of this mosque went smoothly. He feels that everything has been flowing naturally without significant obstacles from the beginning.

"Alhamdulillah, today the weather is really nice. This is truly the power of Allah that cannot be compared to anything else; from the purchase of land, design, to finally today we laid the first stone without any difficulties at all. It just flowed like water," said Ivan Gunawan in the Sawangan area, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday (27/5/2025).

The desire to start the construction of this mosque, Ivan said, has indeed been his personal target before going on pilgrimage. He is grateful that everything went according to plan.

"My target before I left was to have the laying of the first stone, and Alhamdulillah, it was granted by Allah and everything went smoothly. Friends here can also use the mosque more quickly," said Ivan Gunawan.

Ivan also feels happy because this groundbreaking ceremony received a warm welcome from various parties. The presence of community leaders and local residents added to the solemnity of the moment.

"Alhamdulillah today it is also seen by local officials, all the scholars are here, all the residents, insya Allah the residents are happy, glad there is a mosque that insya Allah can be beneficial for everyone. So please pray that the construction goes smoothly," he said.

The man who is commonly called Igun targets the mosque to be usable during Ramadan or Idul Fitri next year. He is confident that the construction can be completed on time due to the strong commitment from the contractor.

"So it can be informed to the surrounding residents later that there will be trucks during the construction which may somewhat obstruct daily routines. I also ask for your cooperation," concluded Ivan Gunawan. /far
