After a long process, the appeal filed by Paula Verhoeven regarding the divorce ruling from Baim Wong finally yielded results. The Religious High Court officially issued its ruling on June 18, 2025, and the content is quite surprising.
In the appeal ruling, it was found that the allegations of nusyus or disobedience made by Baim Wong against Paula were unproven. Previously, the South Jakarta Religious Court stated that Paula had an affair and was not entitled to support. /aal
"There are 3 points in the (appeal) ruling, first, granting the divorce, second, there is no nusyus, and third, custody to the father because the psychologist stated that the child is closer to the father," said Paula's attorney, Alvon Kurnia Palma, Thursday (26/6/2025).
With the absence of proof of nusyus, Paula has now officially obtained the right to alimony from Baim Wong. This alimony includes mut'ah, iddah, and madhiyah alimony, which are the rights of a wife after divorce.
"Yes, it was not proven (disobedient wife) and she receives the rights to madhiyah alimony, mut'ah, and iddah," Alvon continued to emphasize.
Although he did not disclose the exact amount of alimony received by his client, Alvon stated that Paula's main focus remains on the psychological condition of her two young children.
"The main point is more about how the children receive positive things that will shape their good personality, that is what concerns Paula the most," explained Alvon.
Regarding the obligation of alimony, Alvon also conveyed that Baim Wong has fulfilled his obligations even before the divorce declaration took place in court. "(Alimony is given) a few days before the divorce declaration must already be fulfilled in its procedural form," he concluded.
This decision also marks a new chapter in the controversy surrounding the divorce of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven, which has been a public focus since early 2025.
