7 Photos of Regina Poetiray Celebrating Her 26th Birthday with a Mini Tennis Tournament, Tekila Becomes a Fun Event

Regina explained that Tekila initially started as a small activity involving close friends. However, the extraordinary enthusiasm from tennis fans made this community grow larger. 

"So Tekila, if I tell a bit of the story, we started in July 2024. From there, we began with just friends. Suddenly, it became crowded, really like people we didn’t know," she said.  

At the event, the mini tournament successfully attracted 64 participants. However, Regina mentioned that this is still simple and not on a large scale. "With 64 participants. But we still call this a mini tournament. Because it's a one-day event and we don’t want to act like we know everything to create a big tournament, because this is our first time," said Regina. 

Regina also revealed that this event also serves as a celebration of her birthday. The initial idea was for this event to just be a casual gathering with friends, but Rheno suggested a bigger concept. "Actually, today is December 28, and it's also my birthday. So initially, I just wanted to have a birthday tennis. Then Rheno (my brother) came up with the idea, instead of just playing a regular game, why don't we... Instead of just us, let’s invite outsiders too. So, we decided to have a mini tournament," she added. 

The uniqueness of Tekila not only attracts regular tennis enthusiasts but also several celebrities who want to participate. However, due to the high interest from other participants, many of Regina's friends could not get a spot. "Some of our celebrity friends, influencers, and celebrities actually want to join Tekila. But because of the enthusiasm, we call them Tekila people, Tekila people are our members, their enthusiasm, so we just opened it up," she said.  

He felt touched because the registration for participants filled up so quickly. "The registration for two weeks was immediately full. So our celebrity friends were like, yeah, I'm really sorry guys, it's too late, there were so many earlier. Yeah, a lot, really a lot," he said.

Through the Tekila Year End Mini Tournament 2024, Regina and Rheno hope that this tennis community can continue to develop into a fun sports and entertainment space. "Our hope is that Tekila can continue to be a place for people to gather, play sports, and have fun," they concluded.
