The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, attended the mourning house of the late Titiek Puspa, on Friday (11/4/2025). He came not only as a state figure but also as a friend and fellow art lover who had collaborated with the deceased on projects. In his statement, SBY revealed that three months ago he collaborated with Titiek Puspa on a music project themed around the environment. The project involved 35 Indonesian musicians and was designed to convey an important message to the world.
"About 3 months ago, I actually met her. Because we, 35 Indonesian artist singers, are currently preparing to create a single video album that conveys a message to the world to save the earth we live on," said SBY.
Titiek Puspa, according to SBY, showed great enthusiasm during the recording process with other artists and musicians. Although she is no longer young, her spirit remains fiery.
SBY's memories of the late one are increasingly profound because he still clearly remembers the lyrics performed by Titiek Puspa in that song. He considers the lyrics to reflect a spiritual spirit and concern for the earth.
"The late one sang a line that goes, 'raise your hand up and pray to the one that will be great.' It means let's raise our hands to the Almighty," SBY recalled.
"Then during the recording with other musicians and artists, he was also happy," SBY continued. "In my opinion, he is a hero of Indonesian culture," he concluded.Â
