7 Portraits of Dewi Reveal Her Love Journey with Pak Tarno, From Meeting at a Restaurant to Being Confronted by Another Wife

Dewi reminisces about the beginning of her acquaintance with the legendary magician Pak Tarno, until she eventually entered into a marriage and became a young wife. It all started when Dewi worked at a restaurant in the Bekasi area, West Java, where she once idolized Pak Tarno.

"At first, I was a fan, he joked, teased me, shot his shot, like, 'do you want to be my girlfriend?'," said Dewi when met in the Warakas area, North Jakarta, on Monday (30/12/2024).

Pak Tarno, according to Dewi, kept approaching her every night without stopping. Even though the distance between their homes was quite far, Pak Tarno always came to Bekasi to meet her. Here are the details!

"It started as a joke, we became a couple after he kissed my hand and we got together. Eventually, every day and every night he always came to my place. From Tanjung Priok to Bekasi is quite far, yet he came every day," she reminisced.

Only a week after their introduction, Pak Tarno proposed to Dewi for marriage. Dewi hesitated because the marriage would only be recognized religiously (siri). However, after Pak Tarno explained and her older brother agreed, Dewi finally accepted.

"I debated with my biological brother, he wanted to do the religious marriage first before the civil one. Pak Tarno said we should do the religious marriage first and then the civil marriage. I told my brother that, and he agreed," Dewi explained.

After the marriage, Dewi decided to stop working and move to North Jakarta with Pak Tarno. However, she did not expect to face Sariyah, Pak Tarno's other wife, who came to confront her.

"I was shocked, because when Mr. Tarno first approached me, he said he had a flight attendant wife and was on a flight. Well, he didn’t have anyone to take care of that flight, so he needed a companion. I didn’t know there was Mrs. Sariyah and other wives, and I was the 10th," said Dewi.

Dewi admitted to being disappointed because Mr. Tarno was not honest from the beginning about his other marriages. However, she still chose to remain faithful because she appreciated Mr. Tarno's efforts in approaching her.

"I am loyal to Mr. Tarno because of his sacrifices to win me over. Every day he would come from North Jakarta to Bekasi. Then suddenly he got sick, right? While he was my husband, he was still healthy, he was very responsible towards me. Now that he is sick, I have to take care of him," concluded Dewi.
