Kapanlagi.com - Singer Veri AFI has been absent from the entertainment world for quite some time. However, when he reappeared, he brought news that he had become a victim of extortion by individuals from online lending services (pinjol).

After discussing with his legal team, Veri decided to bring this case to social media, which eventually went viral.

"At first, I didn't want to blow it up, so I followed their game, but it kept getting extorted. But after talking to my lawyer, he said whether I wanted it to go viral or not, clarify it first," said Veri AFI when met in the Mampang Prapatan area of South Jakarta, Monday (8/1/2023).

Veri and his legal team are trying to prevent individuals from the illegal online lending platform from revealing Veri's name on social media.

He also does not want to become a target of defamation with allegations of having unpaid debts.

"Because if they really start spreading negative things about me on social media. They will say I have unpaid online lending debts. In the end, whether we like it or not, we have to be the ones to clarify and expose their cunning tactics," he said.

Veri's decision to speak out on social media is considered successful because until now, there have been no more threats from the online lending platform.

"But it's true, according to my lawyer, we can turn problems into luck," Veri concluded.

Veri AFI became a victim of fictitious bills by a P2P lending service that turned out to be unregistered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Tens of millions of rupiah disappeared because his personal data was hacked by the application after Veri tried to log in and planned to borrow money.
