8 Portraits of Anjasmara Practicing Yoga, The Key to Staying Young & Stress-Free

Entering the age of 49, Anjasmara still looks fit and youthful. He says that this can be achieved due to his balanced lifestyle and a sense of gratitude.

"Yes, I enjoy what I have now and appreciate what I possess while seeking pleasure to enjoy my daily life," said Anjasmara when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/5/2025).

The actor from the 2000s soap operas is now known to be active in yoga activities. According to him, his interest in yoga began from the pressures of life he experienced in the past.

"Actually, in the early 2000s, I was stressed due to work and life. Eventually, I learned to meditate, but meditation turned out to be not as easy as I thought," he said.

"Then I had to find a substitute for meditation itself, and from one of the books there, I got the insight that if you want to learn meditation, you should learn yoga," he continued.

Anjasmara admitted to finding tranquility through yoga, which combines body movements and elements of meditation. From there, he felt it suited him and began to delve into it regularly.

"Because in every element of yoga, there is a meditative aspect. From there, I learned yoga and it turned out to be true, and I gained a lot of benefits from yoga, and finally, my wife forced me to take teacher training," he said.

"Since then, I thought, well, I might as well share if I can inspire many people to be more aware of themselves and their lives," he added.

According to Anjasmara, the benefits of yoga are not only felt in the body but also in the mind. He admits to being more aware of his existence and being able to manage his thoughts better.

"First, I became more acquainted with my body, second, I can control my thoughts, and third, I can also make peace with myself," he said.

Although he has been practicing yoga for a long time, Anjasmara does not claim to have achieved absolute tranquility. He admits he still has to face various disturbances that arise in daily life.

"Well, I can't say I'm very zen either. Because in life, there are many distractions that occur. So, I just manage it better," he explained.
