"Clearly, Verrell and Athalla are responsible kids. They know what they want to do. And since the age of 17, none of them have asked me for money," said Venna when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (4/2/2025).

Hearing his mother's statement, Athalla joked, recalling the time when he was still in high school and trying to be independent. "I think I was still 17, right? I mean, I was still in high school, right?" Athalla replied while laughing.

Venna also reminisced about one memorable moment when Athalla decided not to accept pocket money anymore. This started from a debate that occurred between them.

"Yes, you have graduated, so no more. Because we kept fighting, you said, 'don't give me pocket money', so I really didn't give it, and finally, he became an endorser," Venna revealed with a smile.

Athalla then acknowledged that the decision helped him to be more independent. “Yes, eventually after not being given pocket money, I felt like I was on the side of the road (joking), but there is always a lesson in it. In life, there must be a lesson that I learned and what I learned from my mom is to be more sincere in life,” he said.

However, the journey towards independence was not always smooth. Venna recounted that one of the reasons for their arguments was Athalla's discipline when they were still dating.

“Yes, at that time he was dating someone, then I reminded him of his curfews, and he got angry, you know, at that age they tend to rebel, 'just don’t give me pocket money anymore, don’t control me', so I really didn’t give him any. After that, he probably didn’t eat,” Venna reminisced while laughing.

Athalla admits that the experience taught him many life lessons. In fact, he feels that his ex-girlfriend also played an important role in shaping who he is today. “Actually, my ex has its own wisdom too, because of her I became more focused on entertainment. So, in life, there are many lessons that I learned,” said Athalla.
