Celine Evangelista is becoming more serious about studying the Islamic religion. In fact, the mother of four often goes to the mosque to perform prayers.
This was revealed by Umi Pipik, a friend who always guides Celine in her journey of learning Islam. The wife of the late Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori once shared this story.
"She only talked about how sometimes I can go to the mosque alone for three days, but wearing a veil, so that people don't see me," said Umi Pipik when met in the Jalan Jendral Gatot Subroto area, South Jakarta, Sunday (25/8/2024).
Indeed, Umi Pipik mentioned that Celine had asked about prayer. Umi Pipik explained that it is okay to read notes while praying, as it is part of the learning process.
That's why, when she came to the mosque to perform prayers, the former wife of Stefan William decided to wear a veil. She did this because she felt embarrassed.
"Because I was afraid of being embarrassed, like, how can I be holding this (notes) while praying, who is that? So sometimes for three days she really stayed at the mosque," said Umi Pipik.
When asked if Celine has recited the two sentences of the shahada, Umi Pipik answered firmly, "She (Celine) has converted to Islam."
However, Umi Pipik admitted that she did not know about the process of Celine converting to Islam. Umi Pipik also did not want to ask further about that matter.
"As for that, I don’t know (who converted to Islam in Jakarta). As for who converted her, I never asked," asserted the owner of the full name Pipik Dian Irawati.
"But during our conversation, she asked me if it was okay to learn how to pray while reading it. I said it was fine, even holding it is okay. Because her intention is to learn," she concluded.
