In fact, she acknowledged that her mother, Irvina Zainal, was already aware of some of the issues occurring in her marriage.   "She knows there are some things she is aware of," said Kimberly Ryder at the Central Jakarta Court, Wednesday (25/9/2024).

Kimberly's attorney, Machi Ahmad, also emphasized that the allegations of domestic violence (KDRT) are not a new issue. In fact, according to him, this case was previously reported by Kimberly in 2021 to the Pondok Aren Police Station, South Tangerang.

"Regarding the domestic violence, I see that the article from the Pondok Aren Police Chief has already spoken. Indeed, there were previous allegations of domestic violence reported by Kimberly in 2021," explained Machi.

Although the report of the domestic violence allegations was made in 2021, Kimberly only took steps to file for divorce on July 12, 2024. In addition to the domestic violence, Kimberly also mentioned the divorce from Edward as another reason behind the lawsuit.   "Yes, there is one of the reasons (for the divorce) among several others," said Kimberly.

On the same occasion, Irvina Zainal, the mother of Kimberly Ryder, also gave her response regarding the alleged domestic violence. She admitted to being very angry when she learned about the incident in 2024, even though the domestic violence her daughter experienced had been happening since 2019.

"The incident happened in 2019, but I only found out about it this year. After I found out, it was like a fire coming out, I was really angry," said Irvina.

Irvina also felt disappointed with Edward's attitude, whom she believes has been pretending to be nice to her all this time.   "Smart, sweet in front of me. Yes, good, I have asked him, 'please take care of my child well, make her happy, don't let there be any problems,' in front of me he is nice. But behind my back, I do not know," she revealed.

Despite that, Irvina feels grateful because her daughter managed to get out of that situation safely. "Thank God my child is safe," she concluded.
