Having Presented Her Mother as a Witness, Kimberly Ryder Disappointed as Her Divorce Hearing is Postponed Again

Kapanlagi.com - The Central Jakarta Religious Court (PA) held another divorce hearing between Kimberly Ryder and Edward Akbar on Tuesday, September 25, 2024. In the hearing, Kimberly presented her mother, Irvina Zainal, as a witness.

However, this hearing was postponed again because the exception or objection from Edward's side was not ready. Kimberly's attorney, Machi Achmad, revealed that the defendant submitted an exception regarding the authority of the Central Jakarta Religious Court to handle this case.

"The defendant is the one who claims the exception, that the exception, relative competence, that the Central Jakarta Religious Court does not have authority, but when asked by the judge where the evidence is, it turns out the defendant was not ready to submit evidence for the exception regarding the inappropriateness of the South Jakarta Religious Court to hear this divorce lawsuit," said Machi Achmad, after the hearing.

1. Postponed Until October 2, 2024

Although Kimberly's side was ready to proceed with the hearing by presenting two witnesses, including her mother, the trial had to be postponed until October 2, 2024.

"Yes, we are also ready to present the two witnesses. But the defendant is not yet ready regarding the exception, so the judge, according to procedural law, postponed it," she said.

2. Disappointed

Kimberly Ryder felt disappointed because this trial process is dragging on. In fact, her side was ready to present witnesses.

"Yes, today we are ready with everything, we brought witnesses and all the evidence, and it just keeps getting delayed," she said.

Irvina Zainal, Kimberly's biological mother, is one of the key witnesses presented in this trial. According to Kimberly, her mother knows most of the issues in her marriage with Edward Akbar.

"Yes, she is just one piece of evidence that is in the lawsuit. There are others too," Kim concluded.
