After going through a series of court hearings, the divorce petition filed by Ruben Onsu against Sarwendah has reached its final chapter. The panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court decided the case in absentia, meaning without the presence of the plaintiff.
After being silent for a long time regarding the cause of the divorce, Ruben, represented by his attorney, finally spoke out.
It turns out the reason for the firm separation was frequent arguments caused by ongoing differences of opinion.
"Frequent arguments, starting from differences in opinions on priorities. So, that has accumulated a lot and reached a breaking point," said Minola Sebayang quoted from an interview via Zoom, on Tuesday (24/9/2024).
Due to the inability to find common ground, Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah agreed to part ways. Because if it continues to be left unresolved and they keep hurting each other, there is a fear it will affect their three children.
"We talk about the core issues of the household, but our perspectives are different. There are differences in each other's way of thinking that are hard to reconcile,” said Minola.
So they agreed not to hurt each other, not to inflict pain, so as not to have a negative impact on the children," he continued.
Minola Sebayang stated that Ruben Onsu felt relieved to know that his case has been decided. There is no sadness because he had mentally prepared for divorce even before filing the divorce petition.
"His (Ruben's) response is relief. The problem that has been a burden is resolved because the verdict has been issued. He has been sad since yesterday before the lawsuit process until finally parting ways. He has mentally prepared and everything else," Minola emphasized.
