Kapanlagi.com - Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah Tan are now officially divorced based on the decision of the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
This divorce was conducted in absentia through e-court, where both parties were not physically present in the trial.Â
Here are the series of facts surrounding the divorce of Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah, who have been married for more than 10 years.
Although it was conducted in absentia, Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, explained that the decision was in accordance with the wishes of the plaintiff. Â
"Alhamdulillah it was decided according to the wishes of the plaintiff. Although we, as the defendants, were not present, we had already stated from the beginning that we agreed with the lawsuit filed," said Chris Sam Siwu in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (24/9/2024).
Sarwendah's legal representative also stated that with this agreement, they would not file any opposition or appeal against the existing decision.
"Therefore, with our agreement, we will not make any opposition or appeal against the existing decision," he said.
Outside the court, an agreement regarding the division of assets and child custody has also been reached between Ruben and Sarwendah.
Another attorney for Sarwendah, Abraham Simon, explained that the division of assets includes both movable and immovable property, such as real estate and vehicles.
Meanwhile, the custody of the child has been agreed to be under Sarwendah's care
"Yes, it is true that there is indeed an agreement reached between Ruben and Sarwendah outside of the court. And indeed, these agreements were made with mutual consent," said Abraham Simon.
"Among other things, regarding the division of assets, there are movable and immovable items, including properties and vehicles. Then also related to child custody, it has also been agreed by the parties that the child will indeed be under the care of our client Sarwendah," he added.
Abraham also added that his client feels relieved after this long process has finally reached its conclusion.
"Our client essentially feels relieved that this process has finally been completed and a decision has been reached," he concluded.
