Known as a celebrity Instagrammer and content creator, Rachel Vennya finally started venturing into the world of film. She made her acting debut in Fajar Nugros' film titled SLEEP CALL.
Rachel Vennya admitted that she initially didn't have much confidence in acting. But because Fajar Nugros always invited her to play in films, Rachel Vennya started to gather courage and wanted to try it.
Rachel Vennya shared her story about her film debut, when approached by Mr. Nugros, Rachel wasn't confident. She even wanted to see the script and eventually participated in the casting. Positioning herself as a viewer, Rachel felt that she would like this film.
In addition, Rachel Vennya also wants to try something new and step out of her comfort zone. She feels young and there are so many things to try and new challenges that need to be faced outside of her comfort zone.
In this film, Rachel Vennya plays Nur, one of the gangs in the online loan company. Rachel Vennya is grateful because the cast members have been very helpful to her in this film project.
"Her role is one of the loan gang. My character is actually good, but in a toxic environment, her way of socializing is lacking," explained Rachel Vennya.
The film SLEEP CALL tells the story of Dina, played by Laura Basuki, who falls into the dark world of illegal online loan companies to pay off her debt. In the midst of loneliness and the burden of debt, Dina finds a little light through 'Sleep Call' on a dating application.
Can compete in acting with Laura Basuki and other actors like Bio One and Della Dartyan, Rachel Vennya admitted that she initially felt inferior and nervous. "Very much, very inferior and very nervous," said Rachel Vennya.
"Alhamdulillah, friends in this Sleep Call project are really supportive, they really help me when I'm nervous, they always invite me to chat. I can also consult with all of them," she said.
The mother of two children is happy to be involved in the film project produced by IDN Pictures, which will be released in theaters starting September 7, 2023. "So this is really a fun project with fun people," concluded Rachel Vennya.
