Tora Sudiro is enjoying a new phase in his life as a grandfather. His eldest daughter, Azzahra Nabila Sudiro, just gave birth to her first child, Kanoadria Adenang Lubis, on June 21, 2025.
Although he hasn't felt many changes yet, Tora admitted that he has reflected on his new status. He even slipped in his signature jokes when realizing that he is now getting older.
According to him, life as a grandfather has not significantly changed his daily routine. However, new habits have started to form, one of which is when he opens online shopping apps.
"The changes haven't really been felt yet. The most is now when I open Tokopedia, looking for children's toys and swimwear, to swim with my arwana fish," he said, laughing.
In addition, he also realizes the change that now his wife has become a grandmother. "Yesterday I was a bit shocked, like, 'why am I now sleeping with a grandmother,'" Tora said while laughing at Brawijaya Hospital, South Jakarta, Monday (23/6/2025).
Becoming a grandfather for the first time, Tora wanted to be called by a different name than usual. He admitted he had thought about using the term "Oma" to appear unique.
"For me, as a grandfather, I initially wanted to be called Oma. Just to be different from others. Because in the past, everyone called me Bab, right? My kids, maybe also my fans later. Then my friends also call me Bab, Bab, Bab, like that," Tora explained.
However, in the end, he wants to be called Bab because it might be easier for his newborn grandchild to say. "The baby also wants to call me Bab. Because it's also easier, right? Before he can call me Papa or Ayah, maybe calling me Bab is easier like that. So, I’ll be Babung, the grandfather," he said.
Still in a joking mood, Tora also mentioned that he is now interested in preparing entertainment for his grandchild in the future. One of them is a toy DJ table that he bought after being inspired by a video of a little kid on TikTok.
"I’m preparing a DJ table, because on TikTok, there are often videos of little kids playing DJ. That’s really cool. Finally, I searched and found one. It was on sale for 99 thousand," Tora said, holding back laughter.
