Designer Jonathan Wongso Reveals the Story Behind Al Ghazali's Elegant Wedding Suit, Using Luxurious Quality Imported Materials

During the akad and reception event, Al and Alyssa appeared in Javanese traditional attire while still incorporating international elements, including in their choice of outfits. This prompted Jonathan to prepare several special tuxedo sets for Al in a modern style. 

"I prepared several suits for Al. The concept is more international, in the form of tuxedos. I prepared 1 white tuxedo, 1 black tuxedo, and 1 velvet tuxedo. They will be used for the pre-wedding and wedding day," explained Jonathan Wongso.

Not only in terms of style, but the choice of colors also received special attention from Al and Alyssa. This couple is known to be very detail-oriented in determining their appearance on that important day. "I prepared the suit that will be worn at the reception on June 16 at St. Regis, for the evening event," he explained.

The classic and elegant concept became the main request from this couple, who according to Jonathan already have a mature fashion sense. They did not want a look that was too flashy or crowded. 

"Al, accompanied by Alyssa, they have been very well-concepted from the start, and they really understand fashion and style. So our discussions went very smoothly and easily," Jonathan revealed.

"They requested a classic and elegant concept, not wanting anything excessive or tacky. The concept is more towards an international tuxedo. The colors requested were also monochrome, which is why I designed it in broken white and black," he added.

Al also received special treatment with a different suit from his family to stand out more among the group. While other family members wore darker colors. "For Al, wearing a different outfit from the family, to make him look more standout, so the family has a dark theme, Al has a lighter theme," he explained.

Not only for Al and Alyssa, Jonathan was also entrusted to design suits for the entire extended family from both sides. He prepared dozens of suits in exclusive colors to ensure their appearance was coordinated.

"In total, I prepared dozens of suits. This Espresso Brown is worn by the whole family including Mas Dhani, El, Dul, along with Alyssa's family, Mr. Richard and Alyssa's siblings from France as well," he said.

In the process of making them, Jonathan did a lot of fittings at Al's family home in South Jakarta. He mentioned that Ahmad Dhani, Al's father, followed the agreed concept quite well. "Mas Dhani just followed the themes, I did a lot of fittings at Mas Dhani's residence in Pondok Indah," Jonathan explained.

The making of these suits is not arbitrary, as Jonathan uses high-quality materials that are imported directly from abroad. The production process also takes a considerable amount of time to ensure a perfect result. The manufacturing process takes about 3-4 months because the materials used are luxury quality Italian wool that must be imported directly from Italy.
