"There is a person (named) Isa Zega alias Sahrul, he is a transgender, transwoman, waria. He was originally a man. He performed Umrah wearing a shari'ah hijab, this is part of the desecration of religion," said the Mufti in a post.
"According to the MUI fatwa, even though his gender has been changed, physically he remains a man and in every process (of Umrah) he must still follow the procedures of a man," he continued.
"But Isa is different, he performed Umrah using the procedures and ways of a woman. This is part of the desecration of religion," the Mufti asserted.
In the midst of news about him being accused of desecrating religion, Isa's style during Umrah has drawn much attention, especially when wearing a veil.
