Indonesia National Team achieved their first victory in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers after defeating Saudi Arabia with a score of 2-0 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) last night.
Marselino Ferdinan became the hero by scoring two goals against the goalkeeper Ahmed Alkassar. This victory brought Indonesia to collect six points.
Marselino's brilliant performance received much praise, including from his club, Oxford United. The striker revealed that he had a premonition he would score in the match.
"When it comes to intuition for scoring goals, it feels like I always have that intuition in every match. I always try to play my best," said Marselino in a press conference after the match.
However, Marselino emphasized that both of his goals were the result of teamwork, not just individual effort.
He appreciated the strategy designed by coach Shin Tae-Yong and the solid execution by the players on the field.
Not only did he succeed in giving the entire stadium chills with his celebration, but Marselino also became the MVP of the match.
