Ferry Maryadi appeared strong as he bid farewell to his mother, Rospita, at her final resting place in TPU (public cemetery) Jeruk Purut, South Jakarta. The funeral procession arrived at 13:02 WIB from the funeral home in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang.
Ferry Maryadi was seen getting out of the ambulance carrying his beloved mother's body along with his other siblings. After helping his father sit in front of his wife's grave, Ferry immediately joined in carrying his mother for burial.
Together with his two siblings, Ferry descended into the grave and laid his mother to rest. Deswita Maharani's husband performed the call to prayer for his mother.
While reciting the adzan, Ferry almost cried and was comforted by his sibling. The 50-year-old man held back his tears while completing the adzan until the end.
As the body was laid to rest in the ground, Ferry's father was seen unable to hold back his tears. Likewise, his daughter-in-law, Deswita Maharani, was also seen shedding tears.
Prayers were offered by family and mourners present at the funeral procession. Then, the family began to approach the grave and sprinkle flowers on the tomb of the deceased.
Ferry indeed appeared strong from the beginning until his mother was laid to rest. However, he does not deny that he truly lost someone he cherished very much.
"It just looks strong. Being the youngest child left by my mother, of course, I am devastated, heartbroken, but I just have to keep it together," he said on Thursday (15/8/2024).
"If I look devastated in front of my wife and child, what will happen to them? I have always been entrusted by my friends who understand religion, as an imam, at the very least, I should not appear fragile and weak even if my heart is broken. If I seem weak and fragile, how will our children and wives cope? Even though I appear strong and sincere, I still cry and feel the loss," he concluded.
It is known that Ferry Maryadi's mother passed away on Wednesday (14/8/2024) at around 17:13 WIB at RSPP, South Jakarta. The deceased passed away at the age of 79 years.
