Actor Otig Pakis's Son Reveals His Father's Dedication to the World of Acting, Even While Sick

Kapanlagi.com - Macan Wigit, the son of senior actor Otig Pakis, remembers his late father who was known for his love of acting. Despite battling cancer, Otig Pakis continued to pursue his passion until the end of his life.

"Dad kept fighting for us, and we are very grateful to him," said Macan Wigit when met at the Bengkel Teater Cemetery Complex, Depok, West Java, Friday (9/8/2024).

1. An Actor Who Never Tires and Continues to Learn

Otig Pakis is known as an actor who never tires of continuing to learn and create. Even in the midst of his struggle against cancer, Otig continues to strive to fulfill his role as an actor and meet with friends who also love the world of acting.

"In the midst of his illness, he still tries to act and meet friends who are learning to act. His passion is what allows him to endure for so long," said Macan.

2. Otig Pakis' Desire

Macan himself is unaware of any unfulfilled desires of the late father. According to him, his father simply wanted to continue living in the world of acting, something he deeply loved.

"His desire, actually, was for him to continue in acting. As for me, I feel this is a moment for my father, who loved to work hard, to finally rest," he revealed.

3. 3 Years Fighting Against Illness

For the past three years, Otig Pakis has been battling the cancer he suffered from. His condition fluctuated, with frequent hospital visits and undergoing various therapies.

"Due to having cancer, his condition has been going in and out of therapy. He also went to the hospital," concluded Macan.

4. Passed Away at the Age of 64

Otig Pakis passed away at the age of 64 and has been buried at the Bengkel Teater Cemetery Complex, Depok, West Java. Throughout his life, Otig Pakis starred in several films that were quite well-known to the public.

Some of them include SAJEN, FILOSOPI KOPI 2: BEN & JODI, KETIKA MAS GAGAH PERGI, and MENGHADAP TUHAN. These works showcase Otig Pakis's dedication and contribution to the Indonesian film industry.
