Indonesia itself has ratified The Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), which was established in the UN General Assembly on December 18, 1979, and has been in effect since September 3, 1981.

"This convention defines the principles, norms, and standards for eliminating all forms of discrimination against women, which must be fulfilled by the countries that ratify it, including Indonesia," explained Ade Fitrie Kirana.

She added that the presence of women in politics is very important because they have experiences and interests that differ from men. According to her, women are more oriented towards the welfare of society as a whole in decision-making.
