"This song actually tells about the feeling of accepting what has happened, giving space to be sad and accepting the feeling of tiredness. There are so many problems that I put in a box and then I push them away in my life, I don't immediately solve them," said Sheryl Sheinafia during a virtual press conference on Monday (6/7).

1. Don't Want to Disappoint Others

Until now, she admitted that she often kept her feelings to herself. She always wanted to appear happy because she didn't want to disappoint those closest to her. But finally, Sheryl Sheinafia realized that she also has the right to be sad.

“There are many things that I keep to myself personally and also in my career. I don't want to disappoint the people around me. I am trained to keep smiling, and sometimes it makes it hard for me to distinguish what I truly feel and what I actually show,” Sheryl Sheinafia said.

“So, this song is for those who have to keep their feelings to themselves because they don't want to disappoint others. They think too much about others, and in the end, they can take a breath and give themselves space to listen to what they truly feel,” she continued.

2. Song from a Year Ago

The song that she made with Petra Sihombing actually existed a year ago. However, it is only released now because it is related to the current pandemic situation of the corona virus.

“I just returned from the US yesterday to compile several songs with Empire label in collaboration with Musica Studios. But because of the pandemic situation like this, I think it's not appropriate, so let's postpone it for now,” explained Sheryl Sheinafia.

“The condition is very supportive for this song. At home, we keep thinking about ourselves, like how about my job. So many people are anxious because of this. I just want to have a song that represents their feelings,” she concluded.
