Senior lawyer Hotma Sitompul passed away on Wednesday (16/4/2025) at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Central Jakarta. Hotma passed away at 11:15 AM WIB after undergoing intensive treatment due to complications from illness.
His body was immediately taken to the funeral home in the Pangeran Antasari area, South Jakarta, in the afternoon. The ambulance carrying the body arrived at the funeral home around 4:10 PM WIB.
The family accompanied the body during the journey from the hospital to the funeral home. This was conveyed by Philipus Sitepu, who represented the family."His children Ditho Sitompoel and Sila Sitompoel, as well as his two sons-in-law," said Philipus at RSCM, Wednesday (16/4/2025).
Upon arriving at the funeral home, a somber atmosphere enveloped the process of moving the body into the house. Family members were seen helping to lift the body into the main room of the funeral home.
Hotma took his last breath at the age of 68. Previously, he was known to have a history of illness and underwent treatment in recent times.
According to Philipus, Hotma had undergone treatment abroad before returning to Jakarta. While in the country, he was treated at RSCM for several days."He had been ill for some time and was last treated in Penang as well. Then he was treated at RSCM too," said Philipus.
Hotma's condition was reported to be stable at one point, but then drastically declined on the morning before he was declared dead. This explanation was given directly by Philipus.
"So today, earlier this morning, Mr. Hotma's condition deteriorated very drastically. And at 11:15 AM WIB, he had passed away," said Philipus.
According to Philipus, the dialysis procedure was performed two to three times a week. This was part of the medical efforts Hotma underwent in his final days."For his illness itself, it was usually two to three times a week (dialysis)," concluded Philipus.
