Ahmad Dhani's Name Proposal for His Granddaughter Rejected by Al Ghazali

Kapanlagi.com - The extended family of musician Ahmad Dhani is filled with joy welcoming the birth of the first grandchild from the couple Al Ghazali and Alyssa Daguise. Alyssa gave birth to the baby girl on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at JWCC Asih Hospital, South Jakarta.

Although they welcomed it with great joy, there is an interesting story behind the naming of the baby. Ahmad Dhani admitted that he had proposed a name for Al Ghazali's first daughter, but unfortunately, the proposal was not accepted by Al and Alyssa.

The leader of Dewa 19 wants a name that has a strong religious element for his first grandchild. However, the couple Al and Alyssa apparently already have their own name choice that has now been officially given to their child.

"No, no. I want it to be Soleil Solehah, but if it's not accepted then it's okay, Soleil Zephora," said Ahmad Dhani when met at JWCC Asih Hospital, South Jakarta, Sunday (10/05/2026).

2. Grandchild's Chosen Name

Dhani further explained the origins of the name Soleil Zephora Ghazali that was ultimately chosen by the couple. According to him, the name is a combination of ideas from Alyssa Daguise and Al Ghazali.

The baby's first name is taken from a foreign language, while the middle name has a connection to the history of a religious figure. Dhani also asked the public to look deeper into the meaning of the language of his son-in-law's name choice.

"The name is Soleil. That's a name from Alyssa, yes. French, Soleil. Just search it on Google. Then from Al, Zephora. Zephora is the wife of Prophet Moses. And then Ghazali. That's the father's name," said Ahmad Dhani.

3. Birth of Grandchild

Regarding his feelings about becoming a grandfather, Mulan Jameela's husband admitted that he cannot yet describe his emotions in depth. This is because, when giving a statement to the media, he had just arrived and had not seen his grandchild's face directly.

Dhani wants to ensure he sees what his grandchild looks like before making further statements about the presence of the grandchild in the Ghazali family. He is still waiting for the right time to enter the treatment room.

"I can't say anything yet because I haven't seen and experienced it. So I can't feel it yet. Later, when I see it, then I can," said Ahmad Dhani.

Ahmad Dhani had hoped his grandchild would be born on Friday Kliwon because it is considered to have a special weton, but that hope did not come true. "Dhani also expressed that he had hoped his grandchild would be born on Friday Kliwon," he added.

5. Call for Ahmad Dhani

Now, Dhani has a new title after officially becoming a grandfather. He chose the term "Jiddi" which he believes has the same meaning as grandfather, to sound more specific for his granddaughter.

"I have become Jidi. Jidi means grandfather," said Ahmad Dhani.
