Alvin Harris and Anita Dewi, the couple who went viral due to the case of the lost tumbler on the KRL Commuter Line, have finally spoken out. In a video uploaded to Alvin's Instagram account on Thursday (27/11), both apologized for the uproar and chaos that occurred on social media as a result of Anita's post that sparked controversy.
This married couple admitted that their response to the incident of the lost tumbler was very unwise. It is now known that Anita has been dismissed from her job.
"Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. I am Alvin, I am Anita. In the past few days, there has been a lot of news circulating and developing on social media regarding our actions," said Alvin in his personal Instagram post.
"Therefore, from the video we made, we both want to sincerely apologize, especially to Mr. Argi and all parties affected and harmed by our words and actions," he continued.
Anita and her husband realize that their response to this incident was very unwise, thus hurting many people's feelings.
This incident serves as a lesson for Anita and her husband, Alvin, to be more careful in the future.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we deeply apologize. Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh," he concluded.
The aftermath of the incident where Anita's tumbler went missing, Argi, a KAI officer, has been dismissed. Now, there are rumors that Anita has been fired from her office @daidanutama.
Alvin and Anita have become the center of attention and received a lot of criticism. In Alvin's Instagram story post, he mentioned that he has received threats through social media and even email.
