The new status of Ammar Zoni as a high-risk inmate at Nusakambangan Prison means he must lead a life that is very different from before. The 32-year-old actor will be placed under a super maximum security regime with very strict rules.

The Subdirector of Cooperation at the Directorate General of Corrections, Rika Aprianti, detailed the treatment that Ammar will receive at the Super Maximum Security Prison in Karang Anyar. One of the main rules is placement in an isolation cell.

"Ammar Zoni and others are placed one person per cell," said Rika Aprianti when met in Central Jakarta on Thursday (16/10/2025).

All daily activities, including training, will be conducted inside the cell. Ammar will only be allowed to leave his cell for one hour each day to get some fresh air, a term for time outside the cell. This means that Ammar Zoni will spend 23 hours in the cell each day.

Interaction with other humans will also be very limited. Rika explained that in this super maximum block, officers will not even meet directly with the inmates. All supervision, including during visits, is done via CCTV.

Ammar Zoni was transferred to Nusakambangan after being suspected of involvement in the circulation of vape liquid containing etomidate, a hard drug, in the Salemba detention center.

In this super maximum block, there are no independence or work training programs. The main focus of the rehabilitation is on personality aspects, such as spirituality, legal awareness, and psychological development.

"Because we concentrate on personality. Personality includes spirituality, awareness of religion, national consciousness, and legal awareness," said Rika.

After six months, there will be an assessment to evaluate Ammar's behavioral changes. If improvements are shown, his status can be downgraded to the "maximum" level, where he can be in a cell with a few other people, although the rules remain strict.
