Ammar Zoni's Objection Note Rejected, Drug Case Hearing Continues

Soap opera actor Ammar Zoni is back in the defendant's chair at the Central Jakarta District Court. In today's hearing, Thursday, (27/110) the former husband of Irish Bella underwent a follow-up agenda related to the drug abuse case that ensnared him.

In this trial agenda, the panel of judges read the interim decision on the exception or objection note previously submitted by the legal counsel of Ammar Zoni's brother, Aditya Zoni. As is known, Ammar Zoni is entangled in a drug case for the fourth time after being suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking network inside Salemba Prison and is now transferred to Nusakambangan. This case has drawn sharp public attention given the actor's track record of repeatedly falling into the same pit.

In the courtroom, Chief Judge Dwi Elyarahma Sulistiyowati, S.H., M.H., read the ruling which affirmed that the objections raised by Ammar Zoni's side could not be accepted. This decision means that the legal process against the father of two children will continue to the next stage."...Muhammad Rifai and defendant 6 Muhammad Amar Akbar are not accepted," she stated during the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday (27/11/2025).

Following the rejection of the exception, the Panel of Judges officially ordered the Public Prosecutor to proceed with the case. The judge requested that the examination of the case against Ammar Zoni and other defendants be continued promptly to seek the material truth in the trial.

"Two, to order the Public Prosecutor to continue the examination of case Number 632/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Central Jakarta in the name of Defendant 1 Asep Ikin, Defendant 2 Adrian Prasetio bin Harni, Defendant 3 Andy Mualim alias Ko Andy, Defendant 4 Ade Chandra Maulana bin Nursalim, Defendant 5 Muhammad Rifai, and Defendant 6 Muhammad Amar Akbar as mentioned above," she said.

The panel of judges provided an explanation regarding the reasons for rejecting the exception to the defendants. According to the judges' view, the indictment prepared by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) has been meticulously drafted and meets the applicable legal provisions, thus it is suitable to serve as the basis for examination.

"Therefore, the panel of judges believes that the indictment has met the formal and material requirements," he stated.

The man, whose real name is Muhammad Amar Akbar, must now prepare to face the evidentiary phase. The judge emphasized that the points of objection raised by the defendants' lawyer mostly pertain to the core issues or main case, thus their validity must be tested through witness testimony and evidence in court, not at the exception stage.

"So, this matter will continue. Because the exceptions from the defendants mostly relate to the substance of the case, it must first be proven whether it is true or not," he explained.
