Artist Shyalimar Malik Officially Changes Her Children's Last Name to Her New Husband's Name

The woman, affectionately known as Cima, has decided to change the last name of her two children by incorporating her current husband's name, Eric Syafutra. This decision was made not without reason, but rather for the clarity of status and future responsibilities for her children.

Cima revealed that this name change is based on the significant role her husband, Eric Syafutra, plays in her children's lives. Eric is viewed as the most responsible figure in caring for and funding all the needs of her two children from her previous marriage.

"So I added my husband's name to their (children's) names at the back. Because the one responsible is my current husband. He is responsible for my two children. I changed both of their names," she stated when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (11/2/2026).

1. Father of Cima's Child Does Not Provide Support

The actor from GUNUNG KAWI explains that his two children are indeed not Eric Syafutra's biological children. However, since the biological fathers of each child no longer provide support and attention, Cima feels that Eric is more deserving of carrying the last name of her children.

"No. These two are from my previous husband, who is different. Well, I have changed their names. As for the first one, I have been married twice. For the first one, he doesn’t know where he went. As for the other one, he is also in Kalimantan, and there has been no news," explained Shyalimar.

2. Shyalimar Once Had a Dispute with Her Ex-Husband

The process of changing names apparently sparked controversy in the past. Shyalimar admitted to having had a dispute with her ex-husband regarding population administration issues. However, over time, the conflict subsided, and her ex-husband chose to back down.

"It should have... a few years ago there was a bit of a fight, he was also not willing. But he also created a fake name in the family card (KK) over there, in that city. In the end, since I have the original, there was indeed a bit of a quarrel. But in the end, everyone backed down," said the granddaughter of former Vice President Adam Malik.

3. Purpose of Changing a Child's Name

In addition to the reason of responsibility, this name change also aims to simplify administrative matters, especially when traveling abroad. Eric Syafutra himself suggested that the last names of the children be standardized in one Family Card (KK) to avoid issues at immigration.

"He was the one who suggested it. The idea is, it’s okay for us to be under one KK. Usually, I get held up there. At immigration, I get held up because the names are different, then the father's name and so on. So now it's just made into one. I’ve also changed my name, so there’s my husband’s name at the back," she added.
