Kapanlagi.com - Iqbal Ramadhan, the son of senior artist Machica Mochtar, has reportedly been arrested by the police after participating in a demonstration against the Revision of the Regional Election Law that took place at the DPR/MPR RI building yesterday. Machica Mochtar revealed that Iqbal has long shown his fighting spirit in the world of activism.
"Iqbal has been an activist since he started college, he took his Bachelor's degree at Al Azhar and became the chairman of the Student Executive Board, he is always at the forefront of any demonstration," said Machica Mochtar in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang, Friday (23/8/2024).
As a mother, Machica admitted that she couldn't stop her son from diving into this struggle-filled world. "But unfortunately, I can't forbid my child; he is truly an activist," she said.

Currently, Iqbal works as a lawyer at the Legal Aid Institute (LBH), a step that according to Machica aligns with her son's idealism. "Now Iqbal is at LBH, he has finished his master's degree and wants to be a lawyer there," she said.
When asked about the reason Iqbal joined LBH, Machica explained that her son wants to help those who are less defended. "Iqbal said at LBH he has a lot of experience and can help people who have no one to defend them," she said.
"There are many people there who are facing legal cases but do not have the means. I feel sad because I remember I also once sought justice for my child," she added.
As a mother, Machica never prohibited Iqbal from fighting for the rights of the underprivileged. Now Iqbal has been released by the police and returned home safely.
"That's why I remember my child when he joined LBH just to defend the small people. So when my child became an activist, I never prohibited him; in fact, as a mother, if he needs to fight for the underprivileged, then why not, because I have also experienced the same thing," she concluded.
